Safety forces add three new hires

North Royalton City Council approved three new hires for the North Royalton Police and Fire Departments at their January 15 meeting. Two of the new recruits are for the Fire Department and one new hire for the Police Department. The two new members of the North Royalton Fire Department are Yaroslav Yavorski and Isaac R. Siman. Both started with the Fire Department, effective January 7. Both were sworn in on Friday, January 4. Police Department to install new phone system

The North Royalton City Council authorized new radios and a console unit for the North Royalton Police Department from Motorola Solutions, at their December 28 meeting. The legislation approved a five-year lease-to-own agreement with Fifth Third Bank that funds the new system, which consists of Motorola radios and a console. The agreement will outfit the North Royalton Police Department with sixty new radios, one for each officer to carry, twenty six radios, one for each police cruiser, one for each police motorcycle and a console for the clerk’s office. No one injured in Stephanie Drive house engulfed in flames

In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 28, the North Royalton Fire Department was dispatched to a home off of Bunker Road. The call came in at 5:35 p.m. for a fire at a home at 8641 Stephanie Drive. Mutual aid was called from Broadview Heights and Parma. The fire was contained in about 30 minutes, according to Chegan. City looking to purchase county-owned property

The city of North Royalton is looking to purchase property that currently belongs to Cuyahoga County Engineer’s Office. The road and bridge maintenance facility property, located at 4875 York Road, will be one of four properties sold, as the county will consolidate its maintenance in one building in another location. They have requested that those interested in purchasing the property submit a Request for Proposal by March.
