School facilities busy with new building groundwork
Since the passage of the School Bond last May, the North Royalton School Administrators and School Board have been busy with the groundwork that will result in a new elementary school building and other updated buildings. “We as an organization have to go through a certain procedure,” said Assistant School Superintendent Jim Presot. The preliminary report on a wetland study on the property has been received. Less than an acre of total wetlands are located on the property in various locations. CERT tailgate fund-raiser offers burgers, dogs and bats
The North Royalton Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be holding a fund raiser, Tailgate Party with Burgers, Dogs and BATS, watching the Cleveland Indians take on the Kansas City Royals. The event will take place on Sunday, September 17, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukranian Orthodox Church Pavilion, 9672 State Road in North Royalton. The group is asking the community to sponsor the event, suggesting that employers maybe host an employee party at the event. 2017 Festival Pageant Winners ready for a year of service
The North Royalton Festival Pageant kicks off the festivities of the annual Community Festival every year. It’s always an exciting event for all involved and this year was no different. The special event took place on Thursday, August 10, at 7 p.m. at the North Royalton High School Performing Arts Center, and it brought together some of the finest youth in North Royalton. City acquires foreclosed State Road property
The City of North Royalton received a gift from Cuyahoga County in the form of a foreclosed property. The County transferred the State Road property over to the city, according to Mayor Bob Stefanik. North Royalton Community Development Director Tom Jordan said that the city has been eying the property for some time, as they learned that it would be going into foreclosure. Cuyahoga County will transfer foreclosed properties to cities, if no one else wants them, said Jordan. They originally had a policy that foreclosed properties would automatically go the city. The City Green is going to the dogs August 6 when the annual Pet Fair returns for its 12th year from 1 to 4 p.m. Though mainly geared towards caring for man’s best friend, the Pet Fair honors all animal companions and family pets with vendor booths, special appearances, family activities and crafts.
