Varsity baseball team wins District Final, heads to “Sweet 16”

The North Royalton Varsity Baseball team is heading back to the “Sweet 16” in the OHSAA Division One State Baseball Tournament. In an exciting District Final game on May 26, at Talty Field at Brookside Reservation, the Bears defeated Avon 5-4 in 11 innings. North Royalton will play Kenston High School in the Regional Semi-finals at Louisville High School in Stark County on Thursday, June 2. Seniors party at prom, graduate, and prepare for next phase of life

Big gold balloon 2022 numerals stood at least five feet high in the entrance to the North Royalton High School prom held this year at the Weymouth Country Club in Medina. It is the first prom in two years that has been held in the elegance of an indoor venue. The members of the senior class and their guests enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing as their four-year high school adventure quickly draws to a close. City Council explores canine shock collars

City Council members are exploring the possibility of allowing the use of shock collars on dogs as a means of control when residents take them off of their property. This topic came up when a Kingston Way Drive resident addressed Council at the May 19 Council Safety Committee meeting. Bellarmine house fire causes significant damage

The North Royalton Fire Department was dispatched when a fire broke out on a house on Bellarmine Drive on Wednesday, May 11. According to North Royalton Fire Chief Bob Chegan, the blaze was reported at 1:07 p.m. Mutual aid was called and was responded to by the Parma Fire Department and the Broadview Heights Fire Department. “We had fire under control in about thirty minutes,” said Chegan, “but with hot spots and further investigation, it concluded in about four hours.” Chegan said that a lot of fire was showing on the back of the house. “It (the fire) started outside and ran up th ....
