No sooner are we finished with Thanksgiving dinner when our thoughts turn to Christmas. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to attend the Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony at the City Green on Sunday, November 30.
Just like every year, there will be complimentary hot chocolate and pastry served beginning at 4 p.m. As a new feature this year, there will be a one-hour ice sculpture demonstration from 4-5 p.m. by Ice Artistry; and Spring Mist Farms will have a live reindeer display from 4-6 p.m.
The parade begins at 5 p.m., and includes the North Royalton Marching Band Drumline and Band Front, stepping off from the North Royalton Senior Center at Royal View, 13220 Ridge Road, making its way to the City Green, where the Mayor and Santa will hit the switch to light up the City Green with decorations and twinkling lights.
The North Royalton High School Choir will perform a few Christmas carols at the gazebo, followed by a Marching Band Drumline performance!
As always, Santa will greet visitors at his little house on the Green, where he will listen to children’s wish lists and present each child with a chocolate bar, provided by Malley’s Chocolates of North Royalton, as well as a toy. This year’s event is sponsored by Malley’s Chocolates and MC4 CPA-Carlin Culbertson.
The Recorder will, of course, be there to photograph the festivities, capture the look on the children’s faces as they tell Santa what they want for Christmas, and print as many photos as space allows in the paper and on the website.
