Farm Tour, Concert and Harvest Fest were a hit with residents

The two-day Harvest Fest brought out the best in the weather, the best in music, the best in fresh foods and the best in what North Royalton has to offer from its residents and its civic organizations. The 12th annual Harvest Fest was expanded to a two-day event this year. On Saturday September 24, residents were invited to visit the working farms and Farmers’ Markets in North Royalton. On Sunday the 25th, families took over the City Green for some old-fashioned fun and to celebrate this year’s harvest. The Civic Groups used the event as a fund-raiser to help spread their message. Students miss classmate and friend, Alec Thomas Miciunas, lost to cancer

It was a field of green on Friday, September 16 at North Royalton High School, honoring a young man who was taken too soon. Alec Miciumas, a Junior at North Royalton High School, was only sixteen when he passed away the morning of Thursday, September 15 after he battled cancer for a year. Principal Ed Vittardi delivers St. Albert the Great State of the School

St. Albert the Great Roman Catholic School’s annual State of the School Address took place on Tuesday, September 27, at the St. Albert the Great Church. School Principal, Edward Vittardi delivered the addressed, introduced by Pastor Fr. Edward Estok, who welcomed those who attended. CERT holds joint exercise with neighboring communities

Superintendent Gurka addresses Chamber members on school bond issue

The September meeting of the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce was held on September 21. North Royalton School Superintendent, Greg Gurka, addressed the group on the upcoming school bond issue, which supports a facilities plan and maintenance. The total cost of the project will be $94,837,207, with $4,536,267 being supplied by the State of Ohio Facilities Construction Commission and $1,400,940 being supplied through local funding. Lead discovered in some school water fountains

The North Royalton School District participated in a new program to test drinking water throughout the district. The district tested the drinking water in accordance with a process that was outlined by the State of Ohio. One hundred twenty two drinking fountains and faucets at the North Royalton High School, Albion Elementary School, Valley Vista Elementary School and Royal View Elementary were tested at the end of August. The 14th Annual Harvest Fest is taking on a different twist this year. The celebration will be spread out over two days Saturday. September 24, and Sunday, September 25. Coberly leads Bears on and off the gridiron

North Royalton Bears senior tight end/defensive end Nick Coberly can be easily found when on the football field. At 6-ft., 4-in., 195 pounds, Coberly towers over smaller defensive backs who try to guard him on pass plays. On defense, Nick plays at the end of the defensive line, either side.
