New scams may cause you angst

Unfortunately, criminals continue to create new types of scams that they inflict upon the public. There are two scams that have become popular of late. One involves the fraudulent claim of unpaid turnpike fines via text messages. The other scam involves email and phone fraud. 7th Grader expands thriving quail business, inspires local youth

What started as a small 4-H project has grown into a full-fledged business for North Royalton Middle School seventh-grader Ava Burrows. In just six months, Ava has transformed her passion for quail into The Cluckity Homestead LLC, an officially licensed and NPIP-certified quail operation. Ava, a third-year 4-H member and part of the Olmsted Hayburners club, began her journey last August with 12 quail purchased from other 4-H members. NRPD Chief reports on 2024-25 Deer Stats

With the recent close of the deer hunting season, the North Royalton numbers are in. With this season’s end, North Royalton Chief of Police, Keith Tarase, reported the 2024-25 season’s update to Council at a recent Council Safety Committee meeting. Council adds School Resource Officer at St. Albert the Great

Last month, the North Royalton City Council approved legislation to add a fourth School Resource Officer (SRO) to the complement of the North Royalton Police Department. This time, the officer won’t be reporting to the North Royalton School District, but to St. Albert the Great Catholic School. According to Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz, the cost of this SRO, including benefits, will be paid for by St. Albert the Great for the nine months in service to that school. Hall of Fame Wrestler Shawn Nelson returns to NRHS and recalls his high school years

There have been a number of great names in North Royalton High School Wrestling over the years. Included on that list is Shawn Nelson, the current head wrestling coach at the University of Findlay. Nelson returned to North Royalton High School recently to be honored by the school following his induction into the Ohio Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Abbey Road gravity sewer project begins

One of the two sewer projects on Abbey Road has begun. The Gravity Sewer Project has started, while another part of the Wastewater projects, the Sanitary Force Main and Gravity Sewer Improvement Project, has been paused for further review. At 110 years of age, Emma Kmet is a Supercentenarian

Cleveland’s population was over five-hundred thousand, and it was the sixth largest city in the United States. The Tremont area on Cleveland’s west side was growing and bustling with people living, working, and creating families that would contribute to the fabric of the area.
