Boys soccer starts season strong

The North Royalton Boys Varsity Soccer began the 2017 season looking at a big task ahead of it. Their job, keep the tradition of North Royalton Boys Soccer alive. Through the first six games of the season, North Royalton is undefeated on the season with a record of 4-0-2. Last year, North Royalton had a record of 12-4-3 and reached the Parma District Finals before losing to eventual state champion St. Ignatius 1-0. Hurricane relief efforts in full-force throughout community

City adds No Vaping to No Smoking laws

City Council unanimously approved legislation at its September 5 meeting that bans all use of electronic smoking devices, such as vape pens and e-cigarettes on city-owned property, including indoor and outdoor properties. “Electronic smoking devices, often called e-cigarettes, heat and vaporize a solution that typically contains nicotine, and are often designed to mimic the look and feel of a real cigarette, while others resemble pens or other innocuous objects,” according to the American Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation. “The devices are metal or plastic tubes that contain a cartridge f ....

The November election is fast approaching. The absentee ballots will be mailed out on September 23 and polls are open on election day, Tuesday, November 7 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On October 10, Voter Registration Closes and on October 11, Opening of vote by mail will begin. School Board News

The September meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on September 11. The North Royalton Royal Harmony sang America the Beautiful in remembrance of the events of September 11. School Superintendent Greg Gurka highlighted the Quality Profile for the North Royalton Schools, stating that this is the third year in publication. Deer hunting rules and regulations outlined

The bow hunting of white tailed deer has begun in the city. To date, 80 permits have been issued, three of which are deer damage control permits, according to the North Royalton Police Chief’s office. That is almost double the 41 permits that were issued at this time last year. The Ninth Annual Rockin’ and Rollin’ for Rhizo Kids - Night at the Races, will be held September 23 to benefit RhizoKids Ohio. When Jake Cirner was diagnosed with RCDP at six months old, his parents were devastated. Imagine being told your child will most likely not live to see his second birthday. Long-time Royalton treasured seniors thanked at banquet

Instead of calling it “The Old Timers Banquet,” how about a new name calling the luncheon to honor North Royalton’s “Most Treasured Residents.” Whatever name you call it, the Olde Timers Banquet is held every year during the North Royalton Community Festival. The event honors residents who helped North Royalton grow into the city that it is today. Schools choose architect for School Facilities Project

The North Royalton Board of Education chose the firm ThenDesign Architecture to be the architect for the North Royalton Schools facilities project. They voted unanimously at the August 14 School Board meeting. Willoughby-based ThenDesign Architecture (TDA) specializes in architecture, planning, and interior design. They also have an office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
