St. Albert the Great Students learn about life from Veterans When Saint Albert the Great School sixth grader Jerrel Rayen interviewed Air Force Veteran Christopher Ginn for a recent Veterans Day project, he learned many new things about the Judge Advocate Officer or, “JAG,” for short. Royal View Elementary students “Git Up” for dance challenge

Students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade participated in Royal View Elementary’s first school-wide dance performance by trying the “Git Up” dance challenge. The song “Git Up” by Blanco Brown is a YouTube sensation that teaches a line dance. The music and physical education staff worked with the students to practice the dance using the family friendly version of the song from the YouTube channel, “Homegrown Kids.” The goal of the cross curricular performance was to teach a line dance that was adaptable and fun for all age groups in the elementary grades. Care and Share celebrates its 30 years of Thanksgiving

It’s hard to believe that the Care and Share Thanksgiving Meal at Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church, at the corner of Royalton and Abbey Roads, is celebrating its 30th year of serving others in the North Royalton community. Back on Thanksgiving Day in 1989, Care and Share began with volunteers at Royal Redeemer serving 100 Thanksgiving dinners. In 2019, volunteers are planning to serve 1,600 dinners on Thanksgiving Day, 400 to those who come to the Church for the meal and 1,200 who are shut-ins or prefer to take their meal home. Vets invited to a Veteran’s Day celebration at North Royalton YMCA

Area Veterans are invited to a special breakfast on Veterans Day. The North Royalton Family YMCA has partnered up with Ward 3 Councilman and United States Army Veteran, Dan Langshaw, to celebrate the service of the community’s veterans. NRCS’s Bus Driver ties for first place at State Road-E-O

North Royalton City Schools’ (NRCS) bus driver Bruce Abbott tied for first place at the state’s bus driver road-e-o on Saturday and is now qualified for the international competition this summer! Bruce Abbott placed fifth in the competition and qualified to go on to the state competition on Saturday, October 26. Karin Wolford placed eighth at the competition and Jane Lawry placed ninth, which means both Wolford and Lawry are alternates for the state competition. Wreaths Across America comes to North Royalton

The AT&T Pioneers Northeast Council is partnering with the city of North Royalton to participate in the Wreaths Across America this year, including the North Royalton Cemetery as one of the many locations participating across the United States. Earlier this year, the city of North Royalton got an email from Wreaths Across America to see if they might be interested in participating. Fire Department fire simulator teaches children fire safety

Sometimes all it takes to make something happen is to be in the right place at the right time. A project for the North Royalton Fire Department, one that has been a long time coming, got a boost when some other North Royalton residents and fire department employees, came together.
