Traffic congestion today equals smooth roads ahead

The area around State and Royalton Roads has been a traffic mess, especially over the past few weeks. It started earlier this summer, when the Royalton Road Water Main Replacement Project began. Recent developments of two other projects in the area have upped the traffic ante and have made things more congested. However, there is good news on the horizon. The three projects that have affected the traffic are the Royalton Road Water main Replacement Project, the Royalton Road Resurfacing Project and the State Road Sidewalk Improvement Project. The North Royalton Board of Education held their October meeting on Monday, October 14. Julie Bogden, Director of Pupil Services, and Melissa Vojta, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, gave a presentation of the school district’s report card. On October 7, North Royalton High School (NRHS) inducted the newest members into their National Honor Society (NHS). The ceremony was held in the Performing Arts Center and included a welcome from Emmanuel (Gus) Scaria, current NHS president as well as the singing of the alma mater by North Royalton High School choir members. Scaria, along with Habib Akouri, NHS vice president, and officers Alexandra Doehrmann, Alexis Kovach and Breanna Tamoga, spoke to the students about the pillars of leadership, service, scholarship and character. Shoppers Stuff the Bus to replenish the NR Foodbank

On Saturday, October 12, the North Royalton City School Bus Drivers held a “Stuff the Bus” event at the Giant Eagle Supermarket on Royalton Road. A big yellow school bus was parked outside the grocery store to accept food donations from shoppers - from canned goods to pasta dinners and everything in between. Gift cards were also donated and accepted. Elementary school program fosters friendships and community advocates

“Understanding” and “Acceptance” are two mindsets that can have a hard time finding their place in the hallways of a bustling public elementary school. But at Royal View Elementary, a “Spirit of Inclusion,” as Building Principal Kirk Pavelich puts it, is simply the cultural norm. Parishioners flock to help others as part of St. Albert Annual Service Day

Thousands of Saint Albert the Great parishioners put their faith into action for the annual Parish Service Day weekend celebrated this year on Oct. 11 and 12. City Green to Get Historical Marker
The North Royalton City Green will be marked soon for history. The North Royalton Historical Society has recently received word that they will receive a grant for up to $3,040 to place the historical marker on the Green.
