Patrolman indicted after charges are challenged

On March 8, a veteran police officer in the North Royalton Police Department was indicted on perjury, tampering with evidence and falsification. He was previously investigated after a judge’s ruling last fall that challenged his charges of an OVI. In April, 2018, a man was pulled over for a tinted window violation and a non-operating license plate light. The man was ultimately charged for those two misdemeanors, as well as OVI, Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. Valley Vista Elementary holds “Out of This World” art show

Valley Vista Elementary showcased students’ artistic talents at their art show on February 21. The theme for the show followed the reading theme in the classroom, which was “Out of this World.” Each grade level was responsible for creating a project that dealt with space. Kindergartners learned hand coloring and intricate cutting skills when making astronauts. First graders used neon paint and paper for their neon Alien UFOs. New produce market to serve seniors and those meeting low income criteria

Assisting those in need already tops the priority lists of several agencies and institutions scattered throughout the city, but that generosity is about to expand again. A produce market aptly named, “Unity In The Community,” will debut April 9 at the York Road Recreation Field Pavilion specifically serving low-income qualifying older adults living in the community. The March meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, March 11. The following building presentations were given: Royal View and Valley Vista Elementary: The Board recognized the Bears Den class meetings taking place in our elementary schools throughout the year, which are a part of the bully prevention program, which started with the 2015-16 school year. City earns Auditor of State Award

The city of North Royalton recently earned the Auditor of State Award. A presentation was given to North Royalton Finance Director Eric Dean and Council President Larry Antoskiewicz by State Auditor Keith Faber on February 21 in order to recognize the city for thorough and accurate records keeping. Antoskiewicz is the Chairman of the North Royalton City Council Finance Committee. School construction adds to city’s traffic woes

In addition to the traffic tie ups on the western portion of Royalton Road, the center part of town, near Ridge and Royalton Roads will also be compromised, due to the construction update of the North Royalton High School. The good news is that in the end, the city will see a widened Royalton Road and updated North Royalton School District buildings.
