The April meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, April 8. Drug Take-Back Day is April 27 at Giant Eagle and Timber Ridge Plaza

Saturday, April 27, is Medication Take-Back Day in North Royalton. This event has been established to not only prevent accidental poisoning and misuse, but to also protect the environment. Grant geared toward educating residents on the importance of recycling

The City of North Royalton was again awarded a Community Recycling Awareness Grant for 2019 from the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District. According to county officials, the purpose of this grant is “to help communities educate residents about recycling, typically through the use of printed materials such as brochures, refrigerator magnets, newsletters and fliers or calendars. Elementary school building construction goes forward, ground breaking takes place for high school construction project

The North Royalton City School District was finally able to start their construction project of the new elementary school. The project had been placed on hold as the district waited for permits from the Army Corps of Engineers and one through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The additional permits required were due to the wetlands on the school’s building site, which is located at the southwest corner of State Road and Valley Parkway. Meet Bear, N R Police Department’s new K-9 officer

The North Royalton Police Department has a new recruit and his name is Bear. The one-year-old German Shepherd was selected on March 15 and named by the force. He is the first K-9 the department has had in almost twenty years. Bear is the second dog chosen for this program. The first dog, which was chosen several weeks ago had to be returned, as he had a hernia. Springtime is reminder to share the roadways

Spring has arrived and recreational areas like the Cleveland Metroparks are beginning to welcome more visitors after the long cold winter. The first time Doug Nicholl saw “Tetélestai,” a musical portrayal of the trial, execution and resurrection of Jesus Christ, he was so moved by the performance that he decided to audition for a role.
