More road work added to summer schedule

The City of North Royalton was able to add another road project to the list of 2019 Road Projects this year. Due to the fact that the other projects came in under estimates and the income tax receipts were higher than anticipated, another road project was added, according to Mayor Bob Stefanik. City energy cost savings program begins

The plan for the city’s Energy Cost Savings Program is beginning this month. This comes after the North Royalton City Council approved two ordinances earlier this year that will allow the city to go forward with the program. The ordinances approve the contract, as well as set up the financing. An ordinance was approved at the April 16 City Council meeting, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an energy savings performance contract with Leopardo, LLC was unanimously adopted. Bennett Road fire burns two houses and RV

Just before 2:00 p.m. the North Royalton Fire Department received a call for a working house fire on Bennett Road. “We saw a large plume of smoke coming down Bennett Road and knew quickly that it was a large fire,” said North Royalton Fire Chief Bob Chegan. Chegan said that no units were available. “Actually there was no one at the station, we were short - we had both medics out,” Mutual aid was called in from the Fire Departments of Strongsville, Brunswick, Broadview Heights, Parma and Hinckley. Car veers off road and into a house

An accident recently took place that involved a car versus house situation. The driver was transported to the hospital, but no one in the home was injured. The house is located on the west side of York Road, south of Sprague Road and north of Tilby Road. On Monday, July 1, a call came at 6:30 p.m. in regarding an erratic driver on York Road, according to North Royalton Fire Chief Bob Chegan.
