The North Royalton Board of Education’s monthly School Board meeting took place on Monday, February 11. The meeting began with the singing of the National Anthem by Valley Vista fourth grade students, who will also be performing at an upcoming Lake Erie Monsters game. Open house aims to breathe new life into service club participation
If you’re interested in learning more about North Royalton’s many service clubs, the activities they do and becoming a member, than you’re in luck. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 2 in Cafeteria 1 at North Royalton High School, representatives from various North Royalton service clubs will conduct an open house style event with meet-and-greet tables, refreshments, door prizes and the opportunity to discover more about each organization and how members embrace civic service. Family of NRHS alumna reaches out in their time of need
A parent’s love is uncompromised. Erin (Luckas) Brown, a 2003 graduate of North Royalton High School, and her husband, Jeff, have been undergoing lab testing and bloodwork since September to discover if either one of them would be a good match to donate a kidney to help save their son’s life. The couple’s son, Lukas, 21 months old, was born in 2017 with end-stage kidney disease. At birth, it was learned that Lukas’ kidneys were functioning at just 20 percent. The family, now living in North Carolina, has endured an agonizing journey watching their infant son undergo weeks in the NIC ....
City and Metroparks Reveal New Park Plans
Residents gathered at City Hall to hear about the proposed plan to add another recreational opportunity in North Royalton. Mayor Bob Stefanik, Community Development Director Tom Jordan, and Cleveland Metroparks Officials presented proposed plans for the Elek Spring property. The City of North Royalton is partnering with the Cleveland Metroparks on the project, which will ultimately link the city-owned Elek Park property to the Metroparks. Council discusses short-term rentals
North Royalton City Council is again discussing short-term rentals, after legislation was introduced at the February 5 Council meeting. The proposed ordinance was introduced by Council President Larry Antoskiewicz and Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw. Last fall, the North Royalton City Council adopted an ordinance placing a moratorium on the operation of short-term residential real estate rentals, such as Airbnb. The moratorium prohibits the operation of any short term rental for any amount less than 30 days, of residential real estate. The moratorium legislation was introduced by Council ....
