Residents advised to take measures against car break-ins
The North Royalton Police Department recently reported a high number of vehicle break-ins in the southwestern part of the City. According to North Royalton Police Department Chief Keith Tarase, most of the break-ins took place in developments in that area and all of the vehicles were unlocked. Items that were taken were primarily purses and money. The March meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, March 14. North Royalton Middle School Principal, Jeff Cicerchi, gave a presentation on the eighteen characteristics of middle level education. A Broadview Heights resident addressed the Board regarding the upcoming strategic process. The Board approved all-day kindergarten fees for the 2022-23 school year at $2,100, which is unchanged from the previous year. City Council introduced legislation at its March 15 meeting for a 24-month of license plate reading cameras that will surveil fifteen areas, down from the original 26, at cost of about $41,250 for the first year, then $37,500 per year. If the City is not satisfied with the system, it can elect to terminate the agreement, at additional cost of $500 per camera, according to the agreement. North Royalton School District making administration changes
There will be some changes in the North Royalton School District administration, starting in August, for the 2022-23 school year. The changes come from a decision to re-organize the central office team, according to North Royalton School Superintendent, Mike Laub. “This is the time each school year where we discuss our plans for staffing for the following year. We consider enrollment numbers, programming, resignations/retirements and other factors,” Laub explained in a communication to parents.
