School Superintendent Greg Gurka highlighted the Quality Profile for the North Royalton Schools, stating that this is the third year in publication. He noted that this district is “only one of 85 districts through the state of Ohio that take the opportunity to share this information with our community.” The Profile can be found on the district’s website, www.northroyaltonsd.org.
A short presentation was then given by each building.

Gurka noted that all schools recognized the day as Patriot’s Day in some form. “It’s amazing to me that it’s been sixteen years since the event of 911,” he said. “I can remember it as if it happened today.” He said at the time, he was a principal and his main concern was taking care of his students and staff. He noted that he didn’t think of his own children until later, as he felt that they were safe and being taken care of by the North Royalton School District. “Throughout my experience from then to now in those sixteen years, each and every day, I know our students are save because of the staff, because of our administration, because of Officer Karl, who is our School Resource Officer, because of the North Royalton Police Department, the North Royalton Fire Department and all the first responders. . . everything they do to make us safe. I just want to take a moment and recognize all those people.”
