The August meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, July 13.
The Board approved the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan grants for 2020-21 as listed.

The Board adopted the Suburban League Conference Salary Schedule for Officials and the North Royalton High School/Middle School Salary Schedule for Athletic Event Workers for the 2020-21 school year.

The Board approved the 2020-21 Student/Parent Handbooks, as presented.
The Board approved a Memo of Understanding between the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio and the North Royalton City School District. This is for the purpose of making the Ohio Online Learning Program, sponsored by the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio, available to the students of North Royalton City Schools.
The Board renewed participation with VSP from October 1, 2020, through September 30, 2022, for the purpose of providing vision benefits to the employees of North Royalton City Schools.
The Board INVO Healthcare Associates for the school social worker services for the 2020-21 school year.
The Board approved the following agreements for the 20-21 school year: PSI Affiliates, Inc./PSI Associates, Inc. for auxiliary services at Royal Redeemer Lutheran School in the amount of $90,467.64 and appoint Julie Bogden as administrator. Services are for School Psychologist/Psychology Services, Speech/Language Pathologist, Health Screenings, and Intervention Specialist. Cleveland Clinic Lerner School for Autism for the purpose of providing special education programs and outreach services as needed; STEPS Educational Group for the purpose of providing special education programs and services; Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio for the purpose of providing special education program services with the Positive Education Program as needed; Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio for the purpose of providing Inter-district services as needed; The Kidslink School, LLC for the purpose of meeting educational needs and services for a student with special needs; SF 200 agreement with St. Albert the Great for personnel services; and the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio for the purpose of providing special education ESY services with Capstone Academy beginning June 9, 2020, through July 27, 2020 They also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Catholic Charities to provide services to support prevention education for students for the 2020-21 school year. This MOU allows the District to access funds designated to the District through the ADAMHS Board to attain services from Catholic Charities to support students’ social and emotional needs.
The Board also approved the amended managed technology services agreement, Exhibit B, with Connect for continued services through June 30, 2022.

The Board approved a two-year contract with Achieve3000 for grades 5-8 at a cost of $37,590 for the 2020-21 school year and $25,060 for the 2021-22 school year.
The Board approved the following agreements for the 2019- 2020 school year:

The Board recognized the retirement of Kathie Swim.
The Board accepted the following resignations/retirement/change of assignments:
Resignations – Ann Radefeld/Curriculum Facilitator/effective July 9, 2020
Retirement – Pamela Barker/effective August 1, 2020
The Board authorized the use of buses for the 2020-21 school year to transport:
-High School band members and others involved to football games and band contests in Northeast Ohio area;
-Graduating seniors, band members, and others involved to the Key Bank State Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio for Commencement in May, and other activities pertaining to graduation; and
-Students and others involved in field trips.
The Board amended the 2020-21 Classified Work Calendar for the 10-Month Clerk/Typist, Office Secretary employees to reflect a start date of August 5, 2020.
The Board approved the agreement with B&D Towing for the 2020-21 school year for towing services for the District. They then authorized the execution of the Lease Agreement with WideOpenWest for optical fiber to service District buildings in an annual amount not to exceed $15,000 for a period of three years.
The next regular Board meeting will take place on Monday, August 10, at 7 p.m. at Royal View Elementary School.
