Members of the North Royalton City Council have been discussing making changes to the City’s ordinances regarding the removal and replacement of tree lawn trees. The measure was first discussed at the May 21 City Council Building and Building Codes Committee meeting. Despite the rainy weather on Memorial Day, North Royalton city officials, first responders and residents came to the North Royalton Cemetery at the City Green to pay tribute to the military members who sacrificed their lives in service to our country. Families enjoy and learn from Annual Safety Fair

The Annual Safety Fair began with cloudy skies over North Royalton, so the usual large crowds of families stayed in the large building that houses our North Royalton Fire Department, but Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz had ordered the clouds cleared by 10:45 a.m., and they were. Higgins resigns, School Board appoints replacement

The North Royalton Board of Education voted to select Carlin Culbertson as the new Board member, replacing John Higgins, who resigned from the post effective May 20. Higgins was elected at the November, 2023 election. Higgins accepted a job in Cincinnati and is moving from the area. Culbertson, a North Royalton resident, is a Certified Public Accountant, and has been working at a public accounting firm for nineteen years. Surveillance camera request is withdrawn

After discussing the addition of Flock cameras over the past few months, the issue was not forwarded to Council’s agenda to be voted upon. It was also removed from the Council Safety Committee agenda. The current Falcon cameras are part of a motion-activated system that takes two pictures of each vehicle. One picture captures the entire back end of the vehicle, allowing for vehicle type recognition. The second picture provides a close-up image of the license plate. John Higgins Resigns Seat on North Royalton Board of Education, Causing Vacancy

May 15, 2024 – North Royalton City Schools Board Member John Higgins will be resigning his seat on the Board of Education effective May 20, 2024. Higgins has accepted a job in Cincinnati.

The laws in the state of Ohio require that the remaining Board of Education members appoint a replacement to fill this vacancy within 30 days. Servant Saturday is People Helping People

Servant Saturday has been part of the culture of Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church for the past 10 years and on Saturday, May 4, the tradition continued. This year, the North Royalton High School showed a slight increase in the ranks of Ohio High Schools, from 73 last year, to 72 this year, according to the U.S. News and World Report 2024 rankings of public schools.
