The March meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Thursday, March 12. The Board approved the following appropriation adjustments: Fund 401 Auxiliary Services from $727,971.36 to $731,301.07; Fund 300 District Managed Student Activity Fund from $680,000.00 to $700,000.00. Council looks for Ward 6 replacement following Wos’ resignation

The North Royalton City Council is in the process of looking for a replacement for the Ward 6 Council Representative position. Councilman Mike Wos has resigned from the position, effective March 16. “It is with a heavy heart but clear conviction that I submit my resignation as a member of the North Royalton City Council,” Wos stated in his resignation letter to Mayor Antoskiewicz and Council.  “Having lived in North Royalton my entire life, this community is deeply woven into who I am. NRHS Mock Trial Team Advances to State Competition

The North Royalton High School Mock Trial Team is headed to the state competition after an impressive showing at both District and Regional tournaments, continuing to build on the program’s rapid growth and success. This year’s case challenged students to tackle a timely and complex constitutional issue centered on the Fourth Amendment. Students argued an evidentiary hearing in which the defendant, Morgan Remy, sought to suppress DNA evidence obtained through investigative genetic genealogy. 2025-2026 Deer Stats

The deer hunting season has drawn to a close and the statistics for North Royalton have been tallied.  With this season’s end, North Royalton Chief of Police, Keith Tarase, reported the 2025-26 season’s update to Council at a recent Council Safety Committee meeting.  The Ohio Deer Hunting Season for 2025-26 , for archery, started on September 27, 2025 and concluded on February 1, 2026, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. “The white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), commonly referred to as the whitetail, is perhaps Ohio’s best-known wildlife species,” accordi ....

Council Votes to Allow All to Participate

The North Royalton City Council corrected an issue that they didn’t know existed. They were unaware that not all were allowed to address them during Council meetings. The rule that was on the books stated that any resident, by submitting a request, may speak at a regular council meeting on agenda items.  The public can be heard at end of the meeting, on miscellaneous items.  A poll was taken on twenty different communities, where it was shown that sixteen allowed only residents to speak.  Nineteen of those communities required a name and address.  The time allowed to speak ranged from t ....

City Planning on Solution for Salt Shortages

North Royalton Service Director, Nick Cinquepalmi addressed City Council at the Council’s February 3 Streets Committee meeting regarding a solution to the City’s recent salt shortage problems.  Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz has directed Cinquepalmi to put together a plan for a brand new salt barn to house additional amounts of salt.  This plan will help alleviate problems the city has experienced this winter season, due to shortages from Cargill Salt. City awarded grant for Rt. 82 widening

The widening of Route 82 is again at the forefront.  City administrators recently reported that the city has been awarded a grant that would be put toward the funding of Phase II of the project. The overall aim of the Rt. 82 Widening Project converts Royalton Road, which runs east/west through North Royalton, from a two lane road to a three lane road, with 6 foot sidewalks and 7 foot tree lawns on each side. Area communities deal with winter weather challenges

These past few weeks have been quite a challenge, with below temperatures, increasing snow accumulations and problems with travel, due to salt shortages. Winter Storm Fern hit the area January 24-26.  According to the National Weather Service: Saturday, January 24, no measurable snow, but temperatures dipping to -11 and wind chill to -14. Sunday, January 25, about ten inches of snow fell, with winds gusting to 17 miles per hour.
