Bockelman Sisters suit up for the Lady Bears

If you take a quick look at the North Royalton Lady Bears Roster for this season, you’ll notice not one, not two, but three sisters from the Bockelman family on the varsity roster. Having brothers or sisters playing on the same team is common. But, in this case, having three sisters playing on the same high school team is unusual and special. Number 55 Sara Bockelman is a senior and stands 6-feet-1-inch tall. Aspiring Middle School leaders participate in Annual Conference at NRMS

Keith Hawkins, one of North America’s top youth speakers, presented to North Royalton Middle School (NRMS) on Tuesday, January 23. The presentation was entitled, “Leaving Footprints in the Lives of the Human Race.” The goal of the presentation was to help students build meaningful relationships with each other. Bitter cold does not hamper construction progress

It’s not even Spring, yet some major construction projects around the city are either in full swing, or are in the works to start soon. Three projects are in the mid and southwest section of the city. Council President makes Committee Assignments

Every two years, the President of Council assigns the various Council committees to each City Council member. It is his duty to assign the Council Committees of Buildings and Building Codes; Finance; Review and Oversight; Rules and Ordinances; Safety; Streets; Storm Water and Utilities. Chamber marks 100 years of service! A Look Back

The North Royalton’s very young Chamber of Commerce, called the Committee of Improvement, got busy with their first order of business, the placement of street signs. The first street sign was on Ridge and Royalton Roads. The Committee Board members consisted of President Mr. C.E. McCombs, who later became the first mayor, Vice President Mr. B. J. Celebrations planned for City’s and Chamber’s BIG years!

The year 2018 will be a banner year for the city of North Royalton, as it celebrates its bicentennial. Plans are being finalized for the festivities, which will start this summer. Mayor Bob Stefanik said that plans are currently being finalized. “We wanted to mark the occasion without going over the top,” he said. Experts share info on new tax bill at Chamber luncheon

Taxes were the topic at the January Chamber of Commerce meeting which took place on Wednesday, January 17, at Carrie Cerino’s Ristorante. Several representatives from the firm Walthall Rea discussed the current tax cuts and some of their effects. North Royalton cemetery to get a facelift

North Royalton’s main cemetery has been targeted for a sprucing up over the past few years by the City administration and this year, the renovation will hopefully be competed. The cemetery is located at 6170 Royalton Road, and is one of two cemeteries in North Royalton. In the 1950s, just a few thousand men and women called North Royalton home. Gas and power lines had only recently been brought in and our municipality was still officially a Village and not yet a City.
