Residents advised to beware of scam

Recently, the North Royalton Police Department has received several calls regarding a scam.  Residents have reported that a man knocks on their door and identifies himself as an employee from the Illuminating Company.  He reportedly tells the residents that the Illuminating Company is replacing poles in the area and that power may be cut to the residence.  He then tries to gain access to the home. Police are advising residents to be mindful of those coming to their door, claiming to be a utility worker.  Other stories they could use is that they are there to check your meters, ....

The Bears are building and future is bright

The first two months of the North Royalton Bears football season has been fraught with bad luck. After the first six weeks of the season, North Royalton had a 1-5 record. But, that record could easily be 4-2 or better if a couple of breaks went the Bears way. The string of bad luck goes back to the first pre-season scrimmage against Padua. Junior quarterback Christian Robinson was injured in that scrimmage forcing head coach Nick Ciulli and his coaching staff to find another signal caller. The staff settled on freshman Joe Marousek, who stands 6-feet-1 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. Joe ....

Pets of all kinds came for a blessing

The skies were grey and threatening, scattered drops of rain dropped heavily on the windshields of cars as they pulled into the parking lot of St. Albert the Great Church, Wallings Road. Pets and people left the shelter of the cars wondering if a quick change of venue would be necessary. It must have been the grace of St. Francis of Assisi that held the raindrops within the clouds. A small patch of blue appeared through the clouds and widened to allow the sun to shine on the gathering of pets and families on the front lawn of St. Albert the Great School. Pets and their owners mingled and gr ....
