Santa Claus is polishing his boots and getting ready for his visit to the North Royalton Lighting of the City Green. He will take part in the annual Christmas Parade and Lighting of the City Green Ceremony on Sunday, November 27, ready to visit with our area children, and listening to their Christmas wishes. North Royalton alum to coach CSU men’s soccer

Kirk Harwat, who grew up in North Royalton, and graduated from North Royalton High School, has been named as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer team at Cleveland State University. Harwat was an assistant coach at Cleveland State for the last five years under Ali Kazemaini. Before the 2016 season began, Coach Kazemaini announced that he would step down at the end of the season to spend more time with his family and concentrate on personal business. Taste of North Royalton:  Delicious way to raise funds for schools/stadium

It was a night to celebrate with good food and good friends. That was the recipe for the sixth annual “Taste of North Royalton” event held Thursday November 3 at the St. Paul Hellenic Center. The event was held in support of the North Royalton Education Foundation and the North Royalton Stadium Foundation. Looking at the scoreboard on the night, there were plenty of impressive numbers. Valley Vista School acquires a new fitness trail

In an effort to impact the fostering of a healthier lifestyle for the students and parents of Valley Vista Elementary School, a new fitness trail was recently completed. A presentation of the project was given at the November 7 School Board meeting, which was introduced by Valley Vista Principal, Jeff Hill, and presented by Physical Education teacher, Nathan Costello. Accolades for staff of “Cool” Schools

Kudos have been give to a number of people associated with the North Royalton City Schools lately. In addition, the North Royalton High School has recently received the distinction of being FOX 8’s Cool School. Royal Redeemer continues to serve Care & Share Dinner on Thanksgiving Day

For the past 25 years, Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church has provided Thanksgiving meals to shut-ins and to those who live in or near North Royalton, offering a chance to enjoy food and fellowship on the holiday. This year is no exception. The Care and Share Thanksgiving Dinner at Royal Redeemer served 100 meals in their first year in 1989. This year, Lisa Martin and her staff of volunteers are planning to serve 1,600 meals on Thanksgiving Day. Suspect shot after officer is stabbed

A North Royalton Police officer was stabbed and the perpetrator shot after police tried to issue a probate order on Friday, October 28. On Tuesday October 18, Vice President Joe Biden welcomed His Excellency Matteo Renzi Prime Minster of Italy at a luncheon in the Benjamin Franklin State Dining Room.
