Third School Resource Officer for North Royalton Schools is named

The new Student Resource Officer for the North Royalton School District was announced by North Royalton Police Chief Keith Tarase. The new SRO has completed his initial SRO training with the Ohio School Resource Officers Association in October. City Council scheduled to vote on Surveillance Cameras

The North Royalton City Council has asked for legislation to allow for the lease and installation of ten surveillance cameras, after they voted against a similar measure earlier this year, asking for fifteen cameras. The measure was first discussed originally in the Council Safety Committee meeting, then forwarded onto the City Council agenda. It was then sent back to the Safety Committee for further discussion. Residents invited to Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Memorial Park

Veteran’s Day, this year, will be celebrated with a special ceremony at Memorial Park. The new bridge at Memorial Park will be dedicated to all Veterans on that day. The installation of the new bridge is part of the Memorial Park rehabilitation project. Residents are invited to join in the dedication of the bridge on Friday, November 11, at 9:30 a.m. Memorial Park is located at 14600 State Road. Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz will be in attendance, as well as most of City Council, the VFW Honor Guard and the North Royalton Police Honor Guard. Council approves adding another School Resource Officer

North Royalton City Council again approved legislation that would add another School Resource Officer (SRO) to the complement of the North Royalton Police Department. This will be the second time within a year that SRO positions have been added. Last December, Council approved the addition of a part-time SRO to the complement. School Resource Officers are police officers who work in the district, along with school administrators, faculty and security staff members in an effort to ensure that schools are safe places for students. Royal Redeemer’s “Care and Share” Thanksgiving Meal is back

The sounds of happiness and fellowship will return to Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. The Care and Share Thanksgiving Meal will once again be offered at Royal Redeemer. For the past two years, volunteers delivered a meal to those who wanted one. Because of COVID, no one came to the church for fellowship. City School District releases 2022 Strategic Plan

The newest Strategic Plan of the North Royalton City Schools was recently released. Residents are warned of new scam alert

The North Royalton Police Department (NRPD) recently posted a new fraud scheme that has been circulating of late. They recommend that residents be alerted to the circumstance. According to the NRPD post, “a very convincing person calls up an unsuspecting victim and advises them that there is suspicious activity on their ATM card/account. The suspect has some of the person’s account information, which lends an air of credibility to their scheme. They advise that they will suspend the person’s card and issue new ones. The North Royalton Board of Education held their October meeting on Monday, October 10. Assistant Superintendent, Melissa Vojta and Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, Jeff Cicerchi, gave a presentation on the state report card.
