Children help light up the North Royalton City Green for the holidays

Motorists and pedestrians traveling along Royalton and Ridge Roads on November 30, were greeted with a 25-year tradition, the Lighting of the City Green. Ice Artistry did an impressive ice sculpture demo before the parade, and Spring Mist Farms had a live reindeer display for all to see. The annual Holiday Lighting and Christmas shortened parade began around 5 p.m., and included the North Royalton Marching Band Drumline and Band Front, along with Santa Claus riding on a shining red fire engine. School Board News

The North Royalton Board of Education held their November meeting on Thursday, November 13. The Board approved the following 2025-26 appropriation adjustments: fund 002-Bond Retirement, from $5,490,353.00 to $77,746,956.05. School Superintendent, Mike Laub shared a number of service projects that were taking place at the various schools. He then noted that there was a bus accident that recently took place. Elek Springs construction begins

The final step in the development of the Elek Springs property project has begun. The City of North Royalton and the Cleveland Metroparks have joined to provide this recreational opportunity for local residents. Elek Springs is located near the southwest area of Royalton and Bennett Roads. In 2008, the City purchased the 14.8 acre property, called the “Old A. Elek Springs property,” located south of Rt. 82, west of Bennett Road and north of Akins Road. City Green Holiday Lighting Ceremony and Parade on November 30

No sooner are we finished with Thanksgiving dinner when our thoughts turn to Christmas. Transportation Officials Look for Local Opinions on I-71

Two meetings have been scheduled to gain input from residents in North Royalton, Strongsville and Brunswick regarding traffic concerns regarding the I-71 corridor that affects traffic to the three cities. The meetings are being conducted surrounding the I-71 Crossroads Regional Transportation Study, which was mandated to be completed in 2026 as part of the State’s biennial budget mandate. NRHS Marching Band earns 35th Consecutive Superior Rating

On Saturday, October 25, the North Royalton High School Marching Band traveled to Columbus to participate in the OMEA State Marching Band Finals. Here, the 240 member Band earned the highest rating possible, and earned their 35th Consecutive Superior Rating at the State Marching Band Finals.  This is the result of a lot of hard work both by the students and band staff.
